Rush is currently a member of the Washington State Bar Association and on the board of a manufacturing company in Spokane. He enjoys boating, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. As a professional hydroplane driver, Brent races boats at over 150 mph achieving a dream he had as a boy growing up. He is a call center director for Premera Blue Cross and has worked in service most all of his career. Brent brings several years of board experience serving past terms with United Way of Snohomish County, Providence Medical Center, and Evergreen Medical Center. He also is one of the founding members of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workgroup at Premera.
King County Home & Community Services Office
If not already authorized, request authorization for AVS for the client and any applicable financially responsible people. Contact Adult Protective Services if you suspect a vulnerable adult living in his/her own home is being harmed or exploited. To address transportation gaps and identify new strategies to improve transportation services, Aging and Disability Services is a member of the King County Mobility Coalition and the Puget Sound Regional Council Transportation Policy Board. Includes congregate or community meals, home delivered meals, and outreach services.
Residents also have an outpatient mental health case manager that provides mental health treatment in the community. The LGBTQ Cultural Competency Training and Support program helps older adults age successfully in the community through peer support and cross-generational support activities and assistance connecting to community resources. The program also provides cultural capacity training for aging, health, and human services providers to address unique risks, challenges, and strengths of LGBTQ older adults, families and caregivers. He also served in the United States Army Reserve, retiring in 2019 as Transportation Officer with the rank of Captain. Aging and Disability Services funds transportation programs in King County that are focused on improving the ability of older adults to access health services and healthy food.

In his spare time, Ed enjoys adventures in cooking, golf, traveling and has actively participated in volunteering for various veteran and diversity causes. Nurses who evaluate and monitor your condition, develop a personalized care plan, administer treatments, medication, wound care, and provide education to you and your family to help manage your health care needs. KCICN contracts with five mental health providers to offer residential services. The contracted mental health providers of the King County Integrated Care Network own or manage approximately 2,300 units of affordable and subsidized housing for adults with mental illness who are enrolled in the KCICN system. These transitional and permanent housing units are located throughout King County. We envision a just society where aging adults, adults with disabilities, and those who care for them can live their best lives in a supportive and caring community.
If the client isn't financially eligible, notify social services. Social services will state fund Fast Track services when the client isn't financially eligible during the fast track period. Authorize payment for NF care if the client is both functionally and financially eligible.

Our care includes skilled-nursing and therapy for any chronic or acute illness. Patients do not need to have been hospitalized to receive home services. Our goal is to provide you with the highest level of care while respecting your privacy and independence.
There is good information on the Washington LawHelp site that explains the timing of an LTSS application. Determine the client's financial eligibility for LTSS medicaid and/or noninstitutional medical assistance including a request for retro medical if needed. For medicaid recipients, institutional services are approved based on the first date the admission is known to DSHS as long as the client meets all other eligibility factors. If the NF admission is on a weekend or holiday, the NF has until the first business day to report the admission. The Family Caregiver Support Program provides help and resources for those who provide unpaid care to a senior adult or and adult with a disability. Adult Day Health programs includes the core services mentioned above plus skilled nursing services, skilled therapy services (e.g., physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy), and psychological or counseling services. Tom Bartholomew’s son Sam, 27, has an intellectual disability due to a congenital brain malformation. Luckily, Sam’s family was introduced to Community Homes when he was in high school.

Prior to formally joining Community Homes in 2021, Amanda was a Shared Living caregiver, helping set up two Shared Living homes and providing live-in care. She enjoys working directly with residents, being out in the community, and coming up with creative solutions. Amanda has a BA in Anthropology with a Five College Certificate in Culture, Health, and Science from Mount Holyoke College. We also co-lead a virtual family networking group that meet once a month.
